The newest e-mail Scam - Don't fall for it! 7 Replies

Tue Oct 28, 2008 1:26 pm
f you happened to open your e-mail today and got the following letter detailed below don't fall for it.
The links to the EULA and Terms of Use are actual blizzard links but the link that asks you to verify your account identity is actually a similarly looking webpage designed to steal your account info. Notice that the link to the account varification page is actually "worldofwarcraft.co.cc/account/" not "worldofwarcraft.com/account"
As always if you have concerns about your account call Blizzard directly, and never ever click links in emails go to the page directly.

Solid State Hardrives - Coming to the Consumer 2009 5 Replies

s of 2009 expect to see the first SSD's (Solid State Drives) rolling out to consumers, also expect to be shelling out big bucks (somewhere just under $1000) for this new toy. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about a SSD is a hard drive with no moving parts, its like a big chunk of memory. The advantage of this type of drive is that there is absolutely zero seek time meaning that when you go to access a file your drive doesn't have to go looking by spinning a platter and moving an arm it just grabs it from the right memory block, making it incredibly fast.

If you want go check out the article on wowinsider.com, they apparently ran a test of the drive and the computer operating it was able to open thirteen wow clients in about thirtysix seconds.

Tigole Confirms Dual specs are still in works 3 Replies

Read the Official Blizzard Forum Post
I remember a while ago someone mentioned that Blizz was looking into the possibility of having two specs and being able to switch between them, most people assumed the idea had been scrapped since no one had heard anything else about it, but a few days ago Tigole confirmed that it's still in the works.

Quote:

- "What ever happened to spec switching?"

[Tigole] "We're defintiely pursuing the ability to switch specs. The details are still being debated internally but we do have plans that would allow for players to switch between specs."

- "think it fell by the wayside with the new mentality of every spec must be viable in pve/pvp/soloing. Whether or not that goal has been achieved is a different thread..."

[Tigole] "We want every spec to be viable, as you say. But the truth is, in end game raiding or end game PvP (Arena in particular), there is a big difference between "viable" and "the best". Players will always perceive certain specs to be better than others in end game activities and it would be misleading to imply that all specs are going to be universally ideal for all situations. But viable is a different story."

- "I imagine by this stage we wouldn't see it until a patch after release?"

[Tigole] "Most likely in a patch but it's not too far off."

It's the massive time wasting game you all know and love from your cell phones and now its invading wow as an addon. The short story of it was someone from wow made this addon but they called it "Besharded" clearly a kockoff of Bejeweled, well as it happend word of this addon reached the people at popcap since they are also wow fanatics but instead of serving a cease and desist order they hired the guy to make an official version for wow and I must say not only is it very very addictive it's a great way to kill time between long flights or waiting for a rez. It has an auto popup feature when you get on a bird or die lol. Also if that wasnt enough it has a curious leveling system that allows you to gain levels in your "bejeweled" skill and you can even compete aginst people on your friends list or in your guild as it displays high scores to everyone on thoses lists and they can see them too.

If you want to read the whole story check out the article on wowinsider.
